We developed Compact by Design to identify products that, despite not always appearing visually different, have a more efficient design. By removing excess air and water, these products require less packaging and become more efficient to ship. At scale, these minor differences in product size and weight culminate in substantial reductions in carbon emissions.

Here are several ways products can qualify for the Compact by Design initiative:

Clarifying Shampoo Bar: Our most clarifying shampoo is perfect for oily scalps, providing a deep cleanse. Lime and orange essential oils, combined with gentle surfactants, help lift away impurities, resulting in a great lather.

Nourishing Ingredients: Castor oil is remarkably effective at dissolving oils and sebum, while glycerin moisturizes hair without weighing it down with heavy oils.

Save Money & the Planet: Each shampoo bar lasts for at least 80 washes, equivalent to three bottles of liquid shampoo. To use, simply stroke the bar down wet hair, and it will lather up beautifully.

Plastic-Free: This bar comes in recyclable, home-compostable packaging. Simply tear up the box and add it to your compost bin or bury it in your garden to return nutrients to the soil.

Ethical & Sustainable Ingredients: The formulation uses vegan, cruelty-free, palm oil-free, paraben-free, and renewable ingredients, all sourced from sustainable producers who are paid a fair wage.
